After leaving Ghana to stay in America in 2023 whiles The NPP needed her badly in parliament, Honorable Adwoa Safo finally lost her seat to son of former speaker of parliament the right honorable Mike OcQuaye .

The current ruling party NPP’s held a parliamentary primary elections for the various constituencies across the country on Saturday, 27th January, 2024 as they prepare for the December 2024 general elections against the largest opposition party NDC , some of the results coming from the various constituencies have stir up controversy after the elections came to an end.

Member of Parliament for the Dome-kwabenya constituency Honorable Sarah Adwoa Safo , mother of two children for the NPP presidential aspirant candidate honorable Kennedy Agyapong massively loses her seat to Mike OcQuaye junior, son of Ghana’s former speaker of parliament from 2016 to 2020 with very big margin of defeat, the elected aspirant candidate for the Dome-kwabenya constituency Mike OcQuaye junior once contested Sarah Adwoa Safo in 2020 primary elections and he was defeated massively , he sat back and worked on the grounds in the constituency and came back again strong at Adwoa Safo and he has finally defeated her with big margin victory.

Honorable Sarah Adwoa Safo in 2023 left Ghana to stay in the USA for her personal business while her party needed her to join them in parliament to vote for a bill that was in line to be passed and she refused to return to Ghana, the NPP leaders sent so many letters to her to return but she still refused, for a while some of the leaders forced her to resign because they weren’t happy with behavior but it didn’t work , Adwoa Safo returned to Ghana in her own time  and started campaigning in her constituency towards the primary elections, fast forward the delegates voted her out in return of some attitudes she showed the party for some time back .
